If you crave brilliantly layered spices and happiness in a Balti bowl served with a smile, Spicy Island is the place to go. Amar Singh opened Spicy Island back in 2001. The current reincarnation of Spicy Island (opened in 2018) is run by Amar’s son, Deepak Singh, who also created the menu, and his lovely wife, Anju Choudhary. Chef’s recommendations are the Delhi Murg Angara Special - BBQ pieces of boneless chicken marinated in Chef’s special spices and served on a sizzling plate, and the Chef’s Brandy Chicken - Spicy Island’s special, made with boneless chicken cooked in Indian spices with a dash of brandy added before serving. They also serve the customer favourites like Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Makhani and vegetable dishes like Saag Paneer (Spinach with fresh cheese) and Chana Masala (chickpeas in Masala sauce). All dishes are prepared using fresh ingredients and spices blended by Deepak himself. They have 3 beers on tap and 10+ varieties of bottle beers, including India’s No. 1 beer, Kingfisher. Pair it with any of their wonderful curries to get that authentic experience
You can also enjoy their lunch Thalis (set lunches Mon-Sat, not including Sundays and P.H.) which includes a samosa, side salad, chicken tikka, your choice of main: lamb, chicken, fish or veggies, served with either pulao rice or naan bread. All for only $79!

They also have set menus for 2, 4 or 6 people at very reasonable prices, that will include appetizers, mains, sides and drinks. Please check the menu below for more details.

They have a seating capacity of between 50-60 people, and available for private events, if you book ahead. Spicy Island is also offering “Support Meals” to those in need of a warm meal, but cannot afford to pay for one. They started it a couple of months ago, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the effects it had to a lot of people’s livelihoods. Deepak and Anju will continue serving these meals as long as they can. So please support Spicy Island and their “Support Meals” by having a lunch and enjoying their lovely food. Visit Spicy Island at 7A-B, Main Street, Yung Shue Wan, Lamma Island, Hong Kong
